The rarity of chests is not random, but follows a predefined cycle. This cycle is made up of 60 chests. Once the cycle is complete, it starts again from scratch. Only the number of characters you unlock from chests is random.
Each 60 chest cycle consits of 36 common chests, 18 rare chests, 6 epic chests. Every chest can be opened using a Chest Token, which will be automatically filled every 3 hours and you can stack up upto 3 unless you but them with coins or get them from shop offer or Tara Event or Friend Referral or Piñata Event and so on.
The cycle is the same for all players, so if you know where you are in the cycle, you can predict the rarity of the next chest you will get. This is useful for players who want to unlock a specific character or upgrade a specific character so players can strategically use chest doublers. It is recommanded to have a minimum of 5 win streak before you do this to get maximum possible potential from chest multipliers.
